Meet Our Board
The Twin Rivers Unified School District Board of Trustees was elected to lead our new district on November 6, 2007. Each of our trustees lives in one of seven areas of our district, but is elected by and represents all seven areas. Michelle Rivas - President

Area Two (West Foothill Farms)
A product of our local schools, Michelle Rivas attended Frontier Elementary and Foothill High School. She began volunteer work when her oldest son enrolled at Frontier Elementary School in 1990. She has also served on School Site Councils at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Michelle served on the Rio Linda School District Board of Trustees for two years before her election to the TRUSD Board. She works for the California Dental Association in the Public Policy Division as the Manager of External Affairs and Legislative Advocate.
Bob Bastian - Vice President
Area Four (Elverta, Rio Linda, and Robla)
Also a product of our local public schools, Bob Bastian graduated from Grant High School and worked in maintenance for the Rio Linda School District while attending Sacramento State College. After obtaining his teaching credential, he taught at Lincoln High School before coming back to teach in Rio Linda. Bob retired from Rio Linda in 1994. As an active school and community volunteer, he has served on the Rio Linda Elverta Chamber of Commerce and the Westside PTA, as well as president of the Rio Linda Education Association (RLEA). Bob served on the Rio Linda Union School District Board of Trustees for ten years before he was elected to the TRUSD Board in 2007.

Area Five (North Natomas and Del Paso Heights)
Cortez Quinn is a U.C. Davis graduate and serves as the Chief of Staff for Sacramento County Supervisor Roger Dickinson. Cortez is an active community volunteer, serving on the board of Sacramento ENRICHES and Rebuilding Together as well as representing Supervisor Dickinson at a number of community events and activities.
Alecia Eugene Chasten

Area Three (North Highlands)
Alecia Chasten is a product of the Rio Linda and Grant School Districts and has resided in the North Highlands area for more than 40 years. A 20-year state employee, Alecia is also a small business owner of a company providing financial consulting services. In addition, Alecia has been an active parent volunteer as PTA President, Vice-President, School Site Councils, and a Board Director with the North Highlands Recreation and Park District
Linda Fowler

Area Seven (North Sacramento East)
Owner of a commercial printing company, Linda Fowler served as a member of the former North Sacramento School District Board for more than 30 years. A former Senior Management Auditor with the Office of the Attorney General, Linda has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Juris Doctorate degree. In addition to raising her own children, Linda has opened her home to several homeless children from the north Sacramento community. She regularly volunteers in our schools.
Janis Green
Area One (East Foothill Farms)
Janis Green has lived and worked in the north area for more than 25 years. In addition to serving on the Rio Linda School District Board of Trustees for six years, Janis worked as a volunteer parent and paraeducator while her children were students. She also served on the PTA, Site Council, and the District Advisory Committee. Janis works for the California Dental Association in the Administrative Services Department as an Administrative Assistant to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Roger Westrup

Area Six (North Sacramento West)
Roger Westrup served the North Sacramento School District as a Board Member for three terms before his election to the TRUSD in 2007. Roger is married and a proud father of six children that have all attended school in the district. A state employee and adult education teacher; Roger is also an active community volunteer, Boy Scout leader, church youth leader, and parent volunteer.
