Principal's Message
Welcome to Hillsdale School! We are looking forward to a great year for our families here at Hillsdale Elementary. Late-start Wednesdays begin at 9:40am. Regular days will begin at 8:15am and end at 2:50pm.
Our entire staff is committed to high expectations for all students, parents and staff as we inspire others with genuine care for achievement and prepare students for life successes.
We look forward to working with you through a team effort in a positive, productive, professional and personal manner to accomplish great things for children. We believe that the cornerstone of our success is the commitment of parents to be actively involved in the educational lives of their children and that parents are the critical factor in the academic success of their children.
We will strive to do an excellent job to educate, guide and care for all students. We ask all parents to encourage and expect your children to do their best with behavior and academics and to assist them at home and at school for their best success. Our school rules are to: Be Safe; Be Respectful; and Be Responsible. We also wish to express to all students the importance of doing their best and always being nice to others so that the social and educational environment is at its best. With everyone doing their important part in a team approach we will, indeed, do great things for kids.
Our campus was remodeled last year and everyone is looking forward to begin a new year. We are anxious to start using the SMART Boards in each classroom, and we are planning more activities for families this year.

Curriculum Development
All curriculum development in the Twin Rivers Unified School District is based on the California State Content Standards and Frameworks. Curriculum guides are updated regularly Educational Services Department, to align with the state standards, district goals, and the statewide assessment program.
School Leadership
Leadership at Hillsdale Elementary is a responsibility shared between district administration, the principal, instructional staff, students, and parents. The district’s emphasis is on a well-balanced and rigorous core curriculum at all grade levels. Instructional programs are aligned with state and district standards. Leadership duties were assumed by Principal Julie Struckmeyer. Staff members and parents participate on various committees that make decisions regarding the priorities and direction of the school plan to ensure instructional programs are consistent with students’ needs and the school plan complies with district goals.
Parent & Community Involvement
Our 10-member parent/staff site council is responsible for assisting in the writing and approval of the school's yearly plan and budget. We also have an English Learner Advisory Committee that provides direction in teaching students whose first language is one other than English. Our PTA is a vigorous group of parents. They are dedicated to enriching the learning experiences of our students and in supporting our teachers in meeting that end. The school is greatly indebted and appreciative of all that our parents do for this school. Parents are invited to attend Back to School Night, Open House, and other school functions. Parents are also invited RLUSD parent eduction evening events.
